A voluntary organization called Fight Until Light (FUL) has launched a vegetable market in Kurigram with a bag full of vegetables for just 5 taka among marginalized people. About one and a half hundred marginal family members are happy consumers to buy 200 taka vegetable market for only 5 taka.

The organization launched this market on the premises of Ghogadah Union Parishad in Kurigram Sadar Upazila on Wednesday, November 29. At this time, Ghogadah Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Malek, Fight Until Light Executive Director Abdul Quader, UP member Rashida, Flower manager Rabiul Islam and media workers were present.

The organization distributed bags full of bazaars for 5 taka among about one and a half hundred cripples, beggars and poor people. As a package, one egg, one kg of cauliflower, beans, red vegetables, brinjal, radish, coriander leaves, etc. Poor and low income people buy these vegetables for 5 taka.

Rahima Begum, a disabled person from Ghogadah Cheetah Farm village, said that she can't earn two hundred taka by begging all day. There I got about two hundred taka worth of vegetables and an egg for only 5 taka. Everything seems like a dream. I feel very good today. This market is like a blessing for poor people.

Mominul, a van driver, said, "It's like running out of water to bring salt with what you earn throughout the day." If you buy rice based on the price of the item, you have to buy curry. It seems that there will be a market of bags full of curry for only 5 taka.

Abdul Quader, executive director of Fight Until Light (FUL), said that such exceptional initiatives have been taken to ensure nutritious food for poor and low-income families. One can buy 5/6 types of vegetables including eggs from this market for 5 taka. One and a half to two hundred people have been able to buy vegetables from here on a given day. I started this market for the first time today. There is a plan to open this market in every upazila of our district.
