A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of
World Handwashing Day at Bagerhat keeping in mind the motto "Clean
hands are within reach".
Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Ariful Islam was
present as the chief guest in the discussion held on the occasion
of 20th Hand Washing Day in the hall of Bagerhat Government
Girls School and Adarsha Secondary School on Sunday (October 15)
morning. Among others present in the discussion meeting organized by
district administration and Bagerhat Directorate of Public Health
Engineering were Jayanta Mallick, Executive Engineer of Public Health
Engineering Department, Bagerhat Sadar Assistant Land Officer M Saifullah,
Bagerhat Government Girls High School Headteacher Ratan Krishna
Howladar, Assistant Headteacher Mamota Rani Biswas, Asst. Teachers
Russell Hossain, SM Hasanur Rahman, Gazi Salauddin were also present
on the occasion.
Later, hand washing techniques and benefits of
hand washing were discussed with thousands of students of School 2.
Speakers at the event said that there
is no alternative to hand washing to destroy germs. Everyone has to wash
their hands after work at their workplace and take food. The speakers
also said that hand washing is essential for health protection.
