Six villages were flooded in Fulgazi upazila of Feni as two parts of Muhuri river embankment have been breached due to continuous rain and onrush of water from the hills.
The flooded villages are Uttar Boroiya, Bijaypur, Dakkhin Boroiya, Uttar Daulatpur, Dakkhin Daulatpur and Sahapara.
"Currently, water of the Muhuri river is flowing 100 cm above danger level. Necessary steps will be taken after the water recedes," said Arifur Rahman, deputy divisional executive engineer of the Water Development Board on Monday.
Upazila project implementation officer Md Masud said, "Dry foods are distributing among the affected people after making a list. Shelters are ready. Local representatives have been asked to help the flood affected people."
Local UP member Kamal Hossain said that erosion has occurred in more than 30 feet till now. Apart from the roads, water has entered the houses.
