CT Online Desk:

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, you will cast your vote, no one can stop you. Always be alert about BNP. They want to harm people. They are trying to stop people from voting.

The prime minister said these things at the Awami League's election rally at the capital's Kalabagan ground on Monday (January 1). He appeared on stage at 3:17 PM in the public meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League. The Prime Minister spoke as the chief guest there.

At the beginning of the speech, Sheikh Hasina said, I entered the new year (2024). Wishing everyone a very Happy English New Year.

Awami League president Sheikh Hasina said, we win people's hearts and get their votes, there is no need to steal. They (Zia-Ershad) steal votes, it is not my business. The High Court has ruled that Zia's usurpation of power is illegal, Ershad's usurpation of power is illegal.

Showing the image of Bangabandhu taking the country forward, he said, those who came to power after 75. They came to power armed. Human destiny is not made. This country is played with. It also banned the Jai Bengali slogan that the people of the country shed fresh blood on.

The Prime Minister said that we have made today's digital Bangladesh. We have developed the country. He said that BNP does not have the courage to stop the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections. People rejected BNP in 2008 because of theft-corruption and terrorism. Arson, killing people is all they know. Now they want to disrupt the election again.

Pointing out that people are at peace due to continuous democracy, Sheikh Hasina said that people are at peace because Awami League is in power. People's socio-economic development has been achieved, per capita income has increased. In this way I win people's hearts and get people's votes. So we don't have to steal people's votes.

Awami League believes in the power and vote of the people and said that we fought for the right to vote. When Ziaur Rahman voted yes-no for vote theft. Awami League then returned the people's right to vote. I will give my vote, I will give it to whoever I want, this slogan is also given to us. We have given voting rights to the people.

Claiming that BNP is creating anarchy in the country under the orders of Tariq Rahman, who is in London, the Awami League president said that the BNP, which wants to take away voting rights through arson, will be answered through voting. In 2014, they failed to prevent elections by arson. Now they are trying to disrupt the election again.
