Fatullah fire: Burnt wife dies, husband in critical condition

A woman was burnt to death on Monday in an explosion that broke out from gas line leakage at  Fatullah in Narayanganj.

The deceased is identified as Sukhi Aktar, 25, died while receiving treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) at 6am.

SM Ataur Hossain, a resident doctor of the hospital, confirmed the news.

The incident occurred at 1:00pm on Sunday at a house located near Himu Market at Katherpool area in Fatullah.

Besides, Sukhi’s husband Md Al Amin, 30, one Aleya Begum, 65, her son Jamal Uddin, 45, one Rafik, 35, received burn injuries.

According hospital sources, Sukhi received 98 percent burn injuries, Al Amin 95 percent and Rafik 12 percent burn injuries.

Russel, a cousin of Al Amin, identified Sukhi couple as RMG workers. Russel said gas exploded as the couple came home from factory at noon and went ignite stove.
