A child died due to snake bite in Begamganj of Noakhali.
Deceased Nusrat Jahan Nuba (3) is the daughter of Nurul Islam Riyad, an
expatriate of Abu Dhabi, of Tula Bari, Anantapur village, Ward No. 7,
Ekalashpur Union, Upazila.
She was buried in the family cemetery of Anantapur village of the upazila at
around 11 o'clock on Tuesday. Earlier, this incident took place at the house of
Siraj member of Kamdevpur village of Ward No. 6 of the same union at around 3
pm on the same day.
Anwar Hossain Jewel, vice president of Eklaspur Union Chhatra League, said that
a few days ago, Nuba went to visit his grandmother's house in Kamdevpur village
of the same union with his mother. Yesterday around noon, he was sitting on the
bed at Nana's house and playing with dolls. When the doll falls off the bed, a
venomous snake bites the leg while picking up the doll. The family members
rushed to his screams. He was later taken to a local hospital by family
members. Nuba died in the evening while undergoing treatment.
Begumganj Police Station Duty Officer Deputy Inspector (SI) Kazi Md Hasan
Kibria said, we have not received any such news. The victim's family did not
inform the police about the matter.
