In Charparvati Union Jamaat Amir Md. Kazi Hanif Ansari Chairman of UP in Companyganj of Noakhali has been arrested by Police.

The accused will be produced in the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court on Monday (October 16). Earlier, he was arrested from the rented house of Ward No. 8 of Basurhat Municipality of Upazila at around 9 pm on Sunday.

Talking to the police and locals, it is known that miscreants set fire to the Bangabandhu Memorial Library in Kadamtala Bazar of Charparvati Union of the upazila around 3:00 p.m. on October 8. Later, two days after the incident, on October 10, Habibur Rahman, vice-president of the Charparvati Union Volunteer League, filed a case against 31 people, accusing UP Chairman Kazi Hanif Ansari as the number 1 accused. Later, the police arrested the chairman from Manik Manzil of ward number 8 of Basurhat municipality of the upazila on Sunday night in that case.

Officer in Charge (OC) of Companiganj Police Station Pranab Chowdhury confirmed the truth of the incident. He said he was arrested in a case under the Explosives Act. The accused will be handed over to the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday morning after being arrested in that case.
