An Awami League leader has been accused of beating up a reserved woman UP member over the distribution of TCB products in Sonaimuri, Noakhali.
The name of the injured woman UP member is Sahela Begum (51). She is a reserved woman UP member of Ward No. 1, 2 and 3 of Chashirhat Union of Sonaimuri Upazila. Accused Abdul Mannan aka Monaf is the president of Awami League ward No 3 of the same union of.
The incident took place in the premises of Chashirhat Union Parishad of the upazila around 11 o'clock on Monday (October 16).
According to the written complaint and local sources, dealers came to distribute TCB products at Chashirhat Union Parishad premises around 11 am on Monday. At that time, Monaf, the president of Ward Awami League, came there. Why didn't TCB products arrive last month? By asking such questions, Monaf started abusing TCB dealers and public representatives in unspeakable language. Monaf attacked when UP member Chahela Begum forbade him from abusing him.
