A protest march and peace rally
was held in Kurigram to protest against the BNP-Jamaat nationwide strike
anarchy.
In the morning, an anti-strike
procession from the party office on the initiative of the district Awami League
circled the city. Later the rally was held in front of the party office.
District Awami League President and District Council Chairman Md Zafar Ali,
General Secretary and Sadar Upazila Chairman Aman Uddin Ahmed Manju, Municipal
Mayor Kajiul Islam, Awami League leader Adv. Abraham Lincoln, Saeed Hasan
Loban, Abul Kalam Azad, Zillur Rahman Titu, Mostafizar Rahman Saju, Alhaj Ruhul
Amin Dulal and leaders of various organizations including Jubo League, Chhatra
League.
The speakers called upon the leaders and workers to unite against Jamaat-BNP against the police killings and anarchy in various places.
