Housewife dies for wrong treatment at Pro-Active Hospital in Naraynaganj

Relatives have alleged that a housewife died due to wrong treatment in a private hospital in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj. The woman named Farzana Akhter (40) died at Siddhirganj Pro-Active Hospital at around 8:30 am on Saturday.The relatives of the deceased said that at 5:30 am today, when the housewife developed chest pain, they took her to Pro-Active Hospital. The doctors there gave Farzana heart failure and immediately gave two injections. Later, when the condition worsened, after a while the patient was taken to the ICU and given 10 more injections. At one stage, when the doctors realized that the patient had died, they advised to rush the patient to Dhaka. Later, relatives accompanying the patient found Farzana not breathing. Then they realized that he had died.Anu Khan, the nephew of the housewife claiming to have killed her, said, I asked the hospital authorities whether the injection was given. But they did not answer. They have done this to many people before. Action should be taken against this hospital.When asked about the truth of the incident, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Pro-Active Medical College and Hospital Md Rashidul Islam said that it is wrong to say that the housewife died due to wrong treatment. The patient was admitted to our hospital early this morning with cardiac problems. Later, he died around 8:30 am while undergoing treatment. We spared no effort to save him. Out of anger, maybe the patient's relatives are making this complaint now.When asked whether action will be taken against the hospital, Siddhirganj Police Station Officer in Charge (OC) Mohammad Abu Bakar Siddique said, action will be taken if a complaint is made to us. We have spoken to the relatives of the deceased to conduct the post-mortem. But they took the body away as they would not do the post-mortem.Narayanganj District Civil Surgeon Dr. AFM Mushiur Rahman said, in case of death due to wrong treatment, a complaint should be filed at the police station and if a written letter is sent to us, we will take immediate action.
