Two people, a driver and a guard of a residential building submerged in floodwater in Chittagong, died from electrocution on Monday.
The incident was reported at around 7:30am from the Katalganj area in Panchlaish, Nazim Uddin Majumder, officer-in-charge (OC) of Panchlaish police station told Dhaka Tribune.
The deceased have been identified as guard Abu Taher, 65, and driver Md Hossain, 38.
The building’s ground floor has been submerged in flood water. The victims were electrocuted when they were trying to unplug the building’s IPS.
They were taken to Parkview Hospital in the area, where doctors pronounced them dead.
The bodies will be taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for an autopsy, OC Nazim added.
