Dollar Tripura, in-charge of Ukhia Fire Service Station, said that there was heavy rain in Cox's Bazar throughout the day, which continued at night as well. Due to continuous heavy rain, a hill in the camp collapsed and several settlements were buried in the ground. First, we started the rescue operation after receiving the news of the landslide at camp number 15. During the rescue operation, information about the landslide was also received in the DMC committee's WhatsApp group at Camp No. 11.

Later, when I contacted the DMC members of Camp No. 11, they said that local people had rescued four people. However, they all died. Therefore, no further assistance from the fire service was required there. After that, the rescue operation at Camp No. 15 was completed and the matter was confirmed and informed to the higher authorities.

Dollar Tripura also said that three bodies have been recovered at Camp No. 15. Of these, two were rescued by the fire service and one was rescued by the locals. At the same time, as heavy rains continue, miking is being done to those living at the foot of the mountain to move to safer places, said Dollar, in-charge of Fire Service Ukhia Station.

The Meteorological Department has recorded more than 150 millimeters of rainfall in Cox's Bazar in the last 24 hours. The agency said that heavy rainfall is likely to continue for the next two days due to the influence of a distinct low pressure area and active monsoon winds in the Bay of Bengal. The administration has urged people living in vulnerable areas to move to safer places due to the risk of landslides.
