Altercation over Argentina match: 2 teenagers hacked

Two teenage boys were hacked over an altercation of Argentina-Saudi Arabia match in Savar upazila, on the outskirt of Dhaka, on Tuesday evening.

The injured are Al Amin, 18, and Mehedi, 16, residents of Boktarpur area in Savar municipality.

Locals said about 20 to 22 teenagers hacked Al Amin and Mehedi in Boktarpur crossing area at about 6:30 pm at one stage of an altercation over the defeat of Argentina against Saudi Arabia, leaving them injured.

The injured were rescued and taken to Savar Upazila Health Complex.

They were, later, sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment, said the health complex emergency department physician Farbin Jasim.

Legal action would be taken based on a written complaint, said Savar Model Police Station officer in-charge Deepak Chandra Saha.
