A head teacher named Prabhat Chandra Burman (50) committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Rajarhat Upazila of Kurigram.
The incident took place at home on Monday (February 19) morning. Immediately after the incident, the family members rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors declared him dead.
It is said that the deceased teacher Prabhat Chandra is the son of deceased Bishadu Chandra Burman of Somnarayan village of Nazim Khan Union and the headmaster of Shimul Tala High School and president of Rajarhat upazila branch of Samaj Tantric Dal Basder.According to local sources, the deceased head teacher was heavily in debt. He was crushed by the pressure of creditors. He also had a dispute with his family. Locals believe that he may commit suicide by hanging himself due to not being able to return these money to the people.
