Nepal has shown keen interest in using Bangladesh's Chittagong, Mongla, and Payra seaports to facilitate the import and export of goods.
Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari of Nepal held discussions with State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury at the Secretariat on Tuesday to convey Nepal's enthusiasm for this collaboration.
Following the meeting, State Minister Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury informed the press that discussions would ensue over the next two to three months regarding the use of a 23-kilometre stretch of land in India to establish a connection with Nepal.
He said both nations were actively deliberating on expanding commercial activities through these ports, with high-level engagements at the prime ministerial level. "We are placing significant emphasis on this matter," Khalid added.
Additionally, Khalid highlighted Ambassador Bhandari's commendation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership.
