Information and Broadcasting Minister and Joint General
Secretary of Awami League said that there will be an agreement with the
participating parties regarding seat sharing in the 12th National Parliament
Election. Hasan Mahmud. On Monday (December 11) at noon, he told reporters in
the conference room of the ministry in the secretariat. In response to the
question of what kind of decision will be made regarding the sharing of seats
with partners and independent candidates, the minister said, "I hope that
there will be an agreement with the partners very soon." We are in regular
discussions with them. There will be an agreement with the 14-party alliance
very soon. And independent candidates are always in the election. He said, many
have become independent candidates from our party. Many who do not join our
party have become independent candidates. Many of these candidates were
rejected. It appears that more than 50 percent of the candidates got their
candidature returned after the first day of appeal. I think their participation
is helpful in making the election festive. When asked about the position of the
party regarding rebel candidates, he said, it was not discussed within the
party. If necessary, a decision will be taken after discussion. The Deputy
Commissioner of Brahmanbaria has been transferred, the opposition candidates of
Awami League said that the DC has taken the side of Awami League. Do you think
the Election Commission is showing neutrality and the government is interfering
in this? The Information Minister said that the government is not interfering
in any way. There is no chance to do it. Because after the announcement of the
schedule, the jobs of all government officials and law enforcement agencies
related to the election are entrusted to the commission. As a result, their
posting, transfer all went under the Election Commission. Commission approval
is required to do anything. Or if the Election Commission directs, the
government is obliged to do so. He said that various OC transfers, UNOs, DC
transfers, these have never happened before. This proves that the Election
Commission is very strong. Besides, the government is supporting the Election
Commission from all sides. The information minister said, you know that many
people have expressed their fears before and after the announcement of the
election schedule. Will foreign observers come? Different people had different
opinions about it. But now it appears that many countries have agreed to send
foreign observers. Domestic and foreign organizations including the European
