Mom is killed by son in Laxmipur

A drug addict sons reportedly hacked his mother to death for refusing to give him money to buy drugs in Laxmipur Sadar upazila on Sunday night.
The incident took place at around 7.30pm at Gangapur village under South Hamsadi union of the upazila. The ill-fated mother was Kiron Begum, wife of Abul Khayer, a resident of the village.

According to locals, the victim's son Kawser, 29, used to take drus for a long time. On Sunday evening, Kawser demanded some money from his mother. When she denied to give him money to buy drugs, Kawser hacked her with a sharp weapon, leaving her dead on the spot.

Locals apprehended the accused and handed over to the police.Laxmipur Sadar Model Police Station officer-in-charge Saifuddin Anowar said being informed, police recovered the body and sent to the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.Legal action would be taken in this regard, added the OC.
