Police have recovered the throat-slit bodies of a couple and their 12-year-old son from a flat in Savar's Ashulia.
The deceased were Mokhter Hossain Babul, his wife Shahida Begum and their son Mehedi Hasan Joy. The couple worked at a readymade garment in Ashulia. They lived in Dhaka for five to seven years, locals informed.
Police suspect that the trio might have been killed three days ago. But the reason behind the murder could not known yet.
According to the local people, getting a bad smell on Saturday evening, they went to the flat and found the door of the flat opened from inside. They entered and saw the blood-stained bodies of the woman and her son on a bed.
Later the owner of the building informed the matter to police.
Being informed, police went to the fourth floor of the six-storey building in Jamgora Fakirbari Mor area at night and recovered the bodies. Police also found Mokhter Hossain's body in another room.
"We are investigating the matter and trying to contact with the relatives of the deceased," said Ashulia Police Station SI Johab Ali.
Superintendent of Dhaka district police MD Asaduzzaman and other police officials visited the spot.
