A child named Pranoy who
was three and a half year old died tragically in a fire caused by an electrical
short circuit in Thakurgaon's Bhulli. In the same incident, the house was also destroyed
by fire.
The incident took
place at Dakkhin Mandal Para village of Devipur Union of Sadar Upazila at 1:30
PM on Monday.
According to locals
and police, Dipu Chandra Roy of Devipur's Mandalpara village went out to work
on the tide as usual. In the afternoon, Dipu's wife went outside to collect cow
dung after leaving the child asleep. An electrical short circuit caused a fire
and all the furniture in the house was burnt to ashes. Later, when the locals
saw the fire and screamed, the nearby people came and brought the fire under
control. At that time, the child Pranoy, who was sleeping in the house, was
burnt to embers. Later his body was recovered.
In this regard, Bhulli Police Station Officer in Charge (OC) Dulal Uddin said that the incident is believed to have occurred due to electrical fire and a UD case has been registered in the death of a child.
