Four people were killed and another was injured after a train rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Manoharganj upazila in Cumilla district on Tuesday.
The accident took place on the Laksam-Noakhali railway line in Khilar Tughuria ara at about 10:30 am.
Three of the deceased were identified as Masudur Rahman, 65, Habib, 22, and auto-rickshaw driver Shohidul Islam, 45. They were residents of Hawla village in the upazila.
Laksam Railway Police Station officer in-charge Jasim Uddin said a Laksam-bound train smashed the auto-rickshaw when it was crossing the railway line, leaving three people dead on the spot and two others injured.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to a local hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries, the OC added.
