Police Nab 7-Member Thief Gang and Retrieve 15 Stolen Cars in Faridpur"

Faridpur Kotwali Thana Police, led by Md. Salauddin of New Sadar Circle, apprehended seven members of a notorious thief gang and seized 9 motorcycles along with 6 easy bikes that were stolen within the Faridpur region. Yesterday, on Friday (August 25), vigilant police squads executed raids across various parts of the city, resulting in the arrest of the suspects. Notably, the operation also led to the recovery of 9 stolen motorcycles, 6 easy bikes, and 3 Master King keys employed in their criminal activities.

Today, Saturday (August 26), at approximately 12:30 noon, Police Superintendent Md. Shah Jahan confirmed these developments during a press briefing held in the conference room of the Faridpur Police Superintendent's office. He highlighted the ongoing issue of motorcycle and easy bike thefts in different parts of the city over the past few days. Acting on confidential information, the police carried out a targeted operation around 12:30 on Friday at the Rajbari road junction in Faridpur Sadar Upazila. This operation led to the apprehension of a key member of the motorcycle thief gang, Russell alias Monir Matubbar, who was found in possession of a stolen motorcycle.

Russell's revelations further led to the arrest of a thief named Badsha Fakir from Char Madhavdia in Sadar Upazila's Chanertek area. During the subsequent investigations, the police also seized 3 motorcycles and a Road Master motorcycle from his residence. Later in the day, around 4 pm, coordinated raids in other parts of the city resulted in the apprehension of another thief, Siddique, and the recovery of four motorcycles from his dwelling.

Following the leads provided by the detained individuals, the police arrested Alamin from a different city locale. Alamin's information then led to the discovery of 3 easy bikes stored within a garage. Additionally, based on details furnished by Alamin, the police arrested Ayanal, along with 3 more stolen easy bikes, in Hatkeshtapur under the jurisdiction of the Sadarpur police station around 7 pm.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Administration) Imdad Hossain from Sadar Circle attended the police press briefing along with Salauddin, Officer-in-Charge of Kotyali police station, and MA Jalil, as well as journalists from print and electronic media. Subsequently, the arrested accused were sent to jail through the court.
