Dr. Taufiq Elahi Chowdhury, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, emphasized Bangladesh’s significant potential for solar irrigation during a recent inspection in Dinajpur. He highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture practices, including the adoption of solar-powered irrigation systems.  Speaking from the Suvarnakhuli area of Angarpara Union in Khansama Upazila, Dinajpur, Dr. Chowdhury underscored the expanding implementation of solar irrigation across Bangladesh, citing its positive impact on agricultural productivity and farmer livelihoods.
Addressing concerns about rising fuel costs and energy dependence, Dr. Chowdhury stressed the government’s priority to achieve energy self-reliance.
