Moon car and Shanti Paribahan collision One Dead

A person named Md. Ibrahim (45) died in a head-on collision between a passenger Transport bus Shanti Paribahan and a banana-laden Moon car (Chader Gari) at Matiranga in Khagrachari. It is known that the dead Ibrahim Khagrachari's father is the son of the dead Amir Hamza of Bhai-Bonchora area. 


At least 7 other passengers were injured in this incident. The accident took place in Bangmara of Matiranga Upazila on Tuesday (24 October 2023). 

According to the police, the night coach Shanti Paribahan (Dhaka Metto-B 11-3594) from Dhaka and the banana-laden moon car (Dhaka-G-8933) from Khagrachari collided when they reached Bangmara area of Matiranga. Eyewitnesses said that about 7 passengers including the driver of the Chad car were injured. 

The injured were rescued and admitted to Khagrachari District Headquarters Hospital. Md Ibrahim (45) died while undergoing treatment at the hospital, although the name of the injured was not found. 

In this incident, Chand's car and one side of Shanti Paribahan were destroyed. The driver of Shanti Parihan is absconding after the accident. At this time, there was a traffic jam on both sides of the road in Bangmara area of Khagrachari-Chattagram regional highway. On receiving the information, the Matiranga Police Station went to the spot and took necessary steps to normalize the traffic. 

Confirming the fact of the incident, Matiranga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Zakaria said, I heard that some people including Chand's car driver were injured. Before we reached the spot, the injured were rescued and taken to Sadar Hospital. He said that the names of the injured were not immediately known.
