CNG driver died in a head-on collision between a CNG-powered
auto-rickshaw and a tractor in Subarnachar, Noakhil. At this time, three CNG
passengers were seriously injured.
The name of the deceased CNG driver is Md. Sabuj (52). He is
the son of Siraj Molla of Harani Union of Hatia Upazila.
The accident took place in the area adjacent to the fire
service office on the Sonapur-Chairmanghat road of Charjubli Union of the
upazila around 7:30 pm on Sunday.
The injured are Md. Rajib (40) of Darka village of Karimganj
police station of Kishoreganj district, Abul Kashem (45) of Hatiar Bardewal
village and Anik Das (42) of Rangamati district.
According to local sources, a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw
leaving Chairmanghat of the upazila was heading towards Sonapur of Sadar
upazila with passengers. On the way, CNGT reached the area adjacent to
Charjabbar Fire Service and collided head-on with a tractor coming from the
other side. The CNG fell on the side of the road and got twisted. Three
passengers including the CNG driver were seriously injured at the scene. Later,
the Upazila Fire Service personnel rescued them and admitted them to the
250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. Later, at around 9:30 pm, CNG driver Subaj
died under treatment.

Syed Mohiuddin Abdul Azim confirmed the death of the CNG driver. He said the
driver died shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
Charjabbar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Humayon Kabir said that the police visited the scene after receiving the information. The CNG-powered autorickshaw and the tractor were seized and brought to the police station. Later, legal action will be taken in this incident.
