Faridpur has 4 parliamentary constituencies consisting of 9 upazilas. In these 4 parliamentary constituencies, several leaders of BNP are in the field along with the ruling party Awami League. Leaders of both the major parties are competing to win their party's nomination. Some are aceing each other and approaching central leaders to win nominations. In addition to the old candidates in these 4 seats, many new candidates of the two major parties have entered the field.
