Tourists asked leave Saint Martin’s Island

The local administration has asked the tourists who went to Saint Martin's Island to return by three o'clock on Monday due to the approaching rough weather.

“We have already started calling upon the tourists using loudspeakers to leave the island within 3 pm on Monday,” Md Adnan Chowdhury, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Teknaf, told the Daily Sun over phone this afternoon.

Alongside, all vessel movement in the Teknaf-Saint-Martin route will be closed from Tuesday until further notice, said the UNO.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday, advised maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar,

Mongla and Payra to hoist local signal number three as the depression over West Central Bay and adjoining area intensified into a deep depression.

The deep depression is likely to move northeastwards and intensify further, according to the bulletin.
