A total of 233 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) forces were
deployed across the country, including 28 in Dhaka and adjacent districts, to
maintain law and order situation.
BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter on
Thursday.
Besides, an adequate number of BGB personnel were kept on standby to
promptly respond to any emergency in the country.
A total of 205 BGB platoons were deployed outside Dhaka to avoid any
untoward incidents.
On the second day of the sixth phase of 48-hour countrywide blockade
enforced by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and like-minded opposition
parties is underway.
The party has announced a series of hartals and blockades since their October 28 rally was foiled.
