Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 10 gold bars weighing 1.1kg from a bus on the Benapole border in Jashore on Thursday afternoon.
Lt. Col. Shahed Minhaj Siddiqui, commander of 49th BGB Battalion in Jashore, said acting on a tip off, a BGB team conducted a drive in the Green Line bus at the Benapole check post at 12:30pm and recovered 10 gold bars worth one crore which was hidden under a seat of the bus.
However, the smuggler managed to escape, he said.
