Three persons, including a couple, were killed after a private car carrying them fell into a roadside ditch in Cumilla's Debidwar upazila on Sunday morning.
The accident happened at about 7:15am at Kutumbopur area on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
The deceased were Mahmud Farazi, 52, his wife Jahanara Akhter, 48, and sister-in-law Salma Akhter, 45.
The private car fell into the dicth after its driver lost control over the steering due to rain. Three died on the spot, said Eliotganj highway crosing police outpost in-charge Premdhan Majumder.
Mahmud Farazi was driving the car himself.
