Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) wards 14 and 56 have been declared red zones.
The wards were declared red zones on the criteria of getting more than 10 dengue patients per week.
After verifying and reviewing the information of dengue patients received through various means including the list sent by the Department of Health, the phone number of the control room, 11 dengue patients were found in these wards from September 2 to September 8 of this month.
DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh will take part in the programme at 10:30am and 11:00am tomorrow to make people aware of the prevention of dengue through cleanliness activities in the red zones.
On this occasion, a day-long special cleanliness and extensive activities will be conducted in the two wards to eliminate the breeding places of Aedes mosquitoes.
In this programme, 950 sanitation workers will conduct special cleaning activities in the two wards. Besides, 13 mosquito workers will take part in larvicide and adulticide activities in each ward in the morning and 13 in the afternoon.
Last month, wards 5, 22, 53 and 60 of DSCC were declared red zones. On August 26, DSCC mayor participated in public engagement activities in those wards.
