At least six people sustained severe burn injuries in a fire that broke out at an oil tanker in Narayanganj's Rupganj early Sunday.
The incident took place at around 2:30am in the Shitalakshya River of the Dorikandi area of the upazila.
The six injured individuals have been admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition, according to media reports.
Upon receiving the news of the fire, firefighters from the Kanchan fire service quickly arrived and extinguished the blaze.
Akbar Ali, the manager of the oil tanker, has reportedly been unaccounted for.
