Seven year old child was hacked to death in Noakhali

A seven year old child hacked to death by miscreants in Chatkhil, Noakhali. However, police could not give any reason for the murder at primary investigation.

The deceased Peha Akter (07) is the daughter of Faruque Hossain of Salamat Patwari house of Jashra village in Mohammadpur union of upazila. She was a student of the first congregation of a local madrasah.

The body will be sent to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem on Monday morning. Before this, the dead body was recovered from a pond near Molla Bari of Jashra village of Ward No. 3 of Mohammadpur Union of the upazila at around 11 pm on Sunday.

The deceased's uncle Md. Fahad said that Peha searched for his father without seeing him at home on Sunday afternoon. At that time, a waj mahfil was being held near their house. Peha goes there and plays with small children. Later he was missing since 2 pm. Then her father came home and started looking for her after not seeing her. At one stage of the search, a person found Peha's bloodied body lying on the bank of the pond near Molla house in Jashra village around 7 pm. On receiving information, the police recovered the body from the spot and took it to the police station.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chatkhil Police Station Emdadul Haque said, initially it seemed like a murder. The body was recovered and brought to the police station. The body will be sent to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for post-mortem on Monday morning.

In another question, OC Emdadul Haque said that the victim has a swollen face on one side of his head. There is a deep cut on the right side of the eye and between the ear and the eye. Initial investigation found no evidence of rape. After getting the post mortem report, the details will be known.
