Robbers attacked an Ansar camp in Narsingdi and looted two firearms along with 10 bullets early today.
Sazzad Hossain Selim, assistant district commandant in the district, confirmed it to our local correspondent.
Four Ansar members were on duty in front of the camp in Narsingdi Bara Bazar area when a group of around 15 robbers attacked them around 1:30am. They took away with two shot guns and 10 bullets, he said.
A police team led by Narsingdi SP Kazi Ashraful Azim visited the spot after the incident.
Filing of a case is underway.
Shafiqul Islam, a sub-inspector of Narsingdi Sadar Police Station, said they suspected that the robbers attacked and looted the firearms as they suddenly appeared face-to-face with the Ansar members. "We are trying to recover the firearms and arrest the attackers," he said.
