Four members of a family were killed, and four others were injured in a landslide in Sylhet’s Jaintapur upazila following incessant rains.
The incident was reported at around 4 am on Sunday at Mati Purba Satjani village in Chiknagul union.
Sylhet Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lutfar Rahman confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
The deceased have been identified as Juber Ahmed, 35, his wife Sumi Begum, 30, five-year-old Safi Ahmed, and Shamimara Begum.
Eight members of the family lived in two houses in the same place. Among them, 4 were killed, and the other four members were injured, said ASP Lutfar Rahman.
According to the locals, several families in the village live at risk near the hills. Part of the hill collapsed due to incessant rain at night, killing the victims.
