BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital in the capital, secured permanent bail in two separate cases.

An HC bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Shahed Nur Uddin passed the order.

The BNP chief's lawyer Barrister Kaysar Kamal confirmed the matter.

AB Siddique, president of Jananetri Parishad, a pro-Awami league organisation, filed a case on October 21, 2014, for hurting religious sentiment.

Another case was filed by AB Siddique too in 2014.

Khaleda, a 76-year-old former prime minister, has long been suffering from various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung and eye problems.
