Don't bring 'arson terrorism' at court, HC tells state
Court of law

A case was filed against BNP leader Mohammad Aslam Chowdhury with Ramna Police Station in 2013 over the mayhem of Hefazat-e-Islam in Dhaka.

The High Court on Sunday (July 30) adjourned hearing on the bail in the case for two months.

A HC bench comprising Justice Mostofa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Aminul Islam passed the order on Sunday.

On behalf of the state, additional attorney general SM Munir and deputy attorney general Sarwar Hossain Bappi held a hearing against the bail in the case, while Advocate Masudul Huq appeared on behalf of the bail seeker.

Earlier, the HC summoned the investigation officer of the case to know the up-to-date situation of the case. When IO Harunur Rashid appeared, the court wanted to know about the case. The HC bench asked the IO why did it take so much time to submit report? "Will you not be able to complete the investigation within the next one month?"

In response, the IO said there are many accused in the case. "So, enough time is required to submit the investigation report."

Additional attorney general SM Munir said there are allegations against accused of the case Aslam Chowdhury to unseat the government joining hands with Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.

In response, the court said, "We'll not look into whether he had gone to America or Israel."

Deputy attorney general Sarwar Hossain Bappi said they (BNP) have started 'arson terrorism' again. At that time, the HC bench told him not to bring the 'arson terrorism' issue to the court. "These are the things belong to a domain of outside the court. Don't spoil the atmosphere of the court in such a manner. Court belongs to 18 crore people of this country. Then the court adjourned the hearing on the bail for two months.
