Awami League advisory council member and Bhola-1 constituency lawmaker Tofail Ahmed has said the next general election will be held as per the constitution.
"There is no possibility of formation of caretaker government amending the constitution. The BNP's movement to realise 10-point demands is unrealistic and baseless," he said.
He was speaking at several roadside meetings at several places in Kachiar Poranganj, Pakar Matha and Ilisha Junction in Bhola on early Saturday afternoon. At that time, he was accompanied by the party leaders and workers including Bhola District Awami League general secretary Mainul Hossain Biplob.
Tofail Ahmed said there will never be a caretaker government in Bangladesh. Elections will be held under the present government. The development that has taken place during the Awami League rule is unprecedented in the country's history. The country has turned into a dignified nation in the global stage.
It may be mentioned that Tofail Ahmed has arrived at his constituency in Bhola on a five-day visit. During his visit, he will witness the development activities in his areas, exchange opinions with the party leaders and activists, and hold roadside meetings.
