Rail connectivity of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chattogram remains suspended after a train derailed at Lawachara National Park in Moulvibzar's Sreemangal upazila early today.
The engine and two coaches of Sylhet-bound Udayan Express from Chattogram veered off the tracks Sreemangal-Bhanughach section, our Sylhet correspondent reports quoting General Manager of Bangladesh Railway East Zone Jahangir Hossain,
The general manager said, "A big tree of the park fell on the railway line after a storm last night. The engine and two coaches derailed around 5:00am after hitting the log that fell on the tracks."
"There are no casualties in the incident," he said, adding that work was underway to salvage the derailed engine and coaches and restore the rail communication.
