Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated 80 completed development projects of the Ministry of Water Resources and 430 small rivers, canals, reservoirs and newly approved development projects and inaugurated 65 community eye centers in 28 districts. As part of this program, she inaugurated protective works to prevent erosion on the right bank of the Jamuna River at various points from Baguria in Sadar Upazila of Gaibandhar to Ganakabar in Phulchhari Upazila through video conference from Dhaka Ganobhaban on Monday.

267 crore 34 lakh 59 thousand taka is spent under water development board to implement this project. Under this project, the right bank of Jamuna river is conserved by installing CC Bøk in Baguria of Sadar Upazila, Balasighat of Phulchhari Upazila, Ratanpur, Singria, Katlamari and Ganakabar areas. On this occasion, a rally was held at Balasighat Naval Terminal in Phulchari.

The executive engineer of water development board was present. Hafizul Haque, Gaibandha Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Sushant Kumar Mahato, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Ibne Mizan, Fulchhari Upazila Parishad Chairman GM Salim Parvez, Upazila Executive Officer Anichur Rahman, Abedur Rahman Swapan, Water Development Board SD Mojibur Rahman, Rezaul Karim, Birmuktijodha Habibur Rahman, Assistant Engineer Raihanul Islam, Police Inspector Rajab Ali, Kanchipara UP Chairman GM Sohail Local Awami League leaders including Shalu.

The Prime Minister said that Awami League came to power in 1996 and established more than 4,000 community clinics across the country with the aim of bringing healthcare to people's doorsteps. He said that in 2001 BNP Jamaat alliance closed the clinics without looking at the welfare of the people. He also said that the delta project has been taken up so that the river water is not polluted. Safe water management is the aim of the current government. He said that if proper management of water is implemented, the people will have the opportunity to get safe water.
