Deadly dengue has claimed the lives of 13 more patients while 2,742 have been admitted to hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Tuesday.
At present, 9,463 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country.
With the latest figure, a total of 340 dengue patients died in the country and 72,225 were admitted to hospitals between January 1 and August 8 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) data. Of them, 62,422 patients have left the hospitals.
Of the deceased, 269 patients were from different parts of the Dhaka city, while 71 were from outside of Dhaka city.
Of the new death, 11 were inhabitants of Dhaka city while the rest two were from outside Dhaka.
Officials at the DGHS said dengue patients mostly come from Jatrabari, Mugda, Kadamtali, Jurain, Maniknagar, and Sabujbagh areas of the Dhaka South City Corporation.
Besides, most dengue patients from Uttara, Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Tejgaon, and Badda areas were hospitalised in the Dhaka North City Corporation.
Sufficient kits for dengue tests have been provided to all hospitals. If necessary, the disease control department of DGHS will take further measures, an official added.
