Police in early Wednesday recovered the bodies, which found hanging, of a couple from a tin-shed house in the capital's East Rampura area.
The deceased were day labourer Jewel, 28, and his wife Nasrin Akter, 22, who worked as housemaid.
The couple might have committed suicide due to financial insolvency, police suspect.
Rampura Police Station OC Rafiqul Islam said, "Getting information at about 3am, we went to the spot and found that the duo were hanging in a ceiling fan of their room. Later, we informed CID's forensic team."
The couple's bodies were kept at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy, he added.
