BNP is conspiring to commit murders on Dhaka University campus to destabilize the country, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said.

“BNP leaders have lost their minds after seeing the progress of mega projects, including Padma Bridge, Metro Rail, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Karnafuli Tunnel. The BNP secretary general, who is suffering from political hallucinations, is lying one after another,” said at a press briefing held at his official residence in Dhaka on Friday.

He said the BNP secretary general has been repeatedly making imaginary allegations of looting on the Padma Bridge. “This is a new discovery of Mirza Fakhrul’s brain disorder. The construction works of Padma Bridge has been completed with 100% transparency.”

Quader said if Mirza Fakhrul cannot prove his allegations of corruption on the Padma Bridge with specific information then he has to apologize for his lies.

He said, “World Bank withdrew from the Padma Bridge project on allegations of corruption. Then Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina took a bold decision to build the bridge with our funds. World Bank’s allegations of corruption were later rejected by a Canadian court and Bangladesh was acquitted.”

“Later, World Bank admitted that they made a mistake by withdrawing fund from the Padma Bridge project. Even then, will the BNP secretary general lie about the transparency of the Padma Bridge?”
