BNP and like-minded parties have announced to observe a three-day countrywide blockade programme.
The blockade programme will be observed on road, waterway and railways on next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
BNP announced the blockade programme through a press release on Sunday.
It said that the parties have announced the countrywide blockade programme protesting the attack on BNP’s Saturday’s rally, killing party activists; arrest of party’s leaders and activists, including secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir; raid at senior leaders’ house and the one-point demand for resignation of ruling government and holding general election under neutral caretaker government.
Besides, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement virtually on Sunday evening.
He stated that the blockades will be held in protest of the recent detention of the party's General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir, the assaults during the citywide rallies on October 28, and the tragic killings of several party activists.
He said the party will observe the blockade programme on October 32, November 1 and November 2.
