Bangladesh has launched e-gate (automated border control system) as the first country in South Asia.
This e-gate has been installed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. As a result, one passenger can complete his/her immigration process in 18 seconds only.
Head of the special branch (SB) of police additional inspector general of police (IGP) Monirul Islam and e-passport immigration project director Brigadier General Sadat Hossain were present at the inauguration of e-gate on Tuesday. The immigration process of passengers was completed in front of them.
Confirming the matter, the executive director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport group captain Kamrul Islam said a total of 15 e-gates were installed in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
