The authorities at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport detected a suspected Monkeypox patient on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old passenger, a Turkish citizen, arrived at Dhaka airport via a flight of Turkish Airlines.
The man was first taken to the Airport Health Centre and then sent to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Mohakhal, Dr Shahriar Sazzad, health officer-in-charge of the Health Center at Dhaka airport, said.
The sample of the passenger has been sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), he Dr Sazzad said.
