Police on Wednesday morning recovered the body of DBC News producer Abdul Bari from Hatirjheel area in the city.
The blood-stained body was found opposite road of Police Plaza this morning.
According to police, Abdul Bari, 35, was murdered seven to eight hours ago. He might have been killed over previous enmity, police suspect.
The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
A blood-stained knife, a moneybag and a mobile phone set were recovered beside the body.
None has yet been arrested but police drive is on to nab the culprit through CCTV footage, said Nazmul Hasan Firoz, DMP additional deputy police commissioner (Gulshan Division).
Passersby spotted the body on the road this morning and informed the police. Later, Gulshan police rushed to the spot and recovered the body at 7 am, Nazmul Hasan said, adding that they suspect Abdul Bari might have been slaughtered after stab with sharp machete.
Police are inspecting the site and collecting evidence.
