There has been a long-standing dispute between siblings in the Kalatali area of ??Ward No. 12 of Cox's Bazar Municipality over the distribution of ancestral property. In this incident, his siblings have accused elder brother Humayun Kabir of depriving them of ancestral property, threatening them during the case and prolonging the matter.

The complainants are Shahriyad Kabir Emon, Humayara Nasrin Sumi, Jannatul Hayat Hosna, Nasima Khanam, and Nilufa Khanam. They are the children of the late Alhaj Mohammad Nasim and the late Rokeya Begum. They claim that after the death of their parents in 2006, they became heirs of the ancestral property as two brothers and five sisters. Among them Shahriyad Kabir Emon and Humayara Nasrin Sumi were minors at the time.

The family claims that there were two immovable properties in the name of the late Alhaj Mohammad Nasim namely Shah Amanat Hatchery and Thai Bangla Hatchery. Later, the name of Thai Bangla Hatchery was changed to Shahjalal Hatchery. According to their statement, the amount of the property concerned is about 150 Gondas or 7.5 Kani. They also claim that BS Khatian No. 3612/3648 has been finally circulated in the name of the late Mohammad Nasim regarding this property.

According to the complainants, after their elder brother Humayun Kabir got married in 2008, he reduced his contact with other family members. Later, they requested him to distribute the ancestral property among the siblings. After assuring them of the property distribution for a long time, they were informed at one point that they had no property in their name and that they had given their share to Humayun Kabir.

The complainants claimed that despite several meetings within the family, no solution was found. Rather, they also alleged that they were threatened at various times. Later, they said that they were forced to take refuge in the court.

The complainants further claimed that even after filing the case, they are being intimidated in various ways. According to their statement, they have been threatened to be kept away for a long time during the case in court and not to give any property.

They further alleged that Humayun Kabir is handling the case through a person named Shamshul Alam instead of appearing in the case himself. However, Shamshul Alam or Humayun Kabir's statement on this matter was not available.

The complainants claim that Humayun Kabir is currently staying in Dhaka with his family. They have sought the cooperation of the administration and law enforcement agencies as well as the court to regain their legal rights to the ancestral property.

They said that the matter should be settled through a complete legal process and the rights of the real heirs should be ensured. At the same time, they have also sought the intervention of the administration to ensure that no untoward incident occurs due to the ongoing dispute.

Despite repeated calls to inquire about this matter, it was not possible to get the statement of the unaccused Humayun Kabir.
