Two carriages of a Dhaka-bound goods-laden train veered off a tracks in Natore district on Wednesday afternoon, snapping the communication of the capital with the northern region.
The incident occurred at about 1:30pm at Abdulpur Junction Signal Point.
Abdulpur rail station master Mohammad Ziauddin said, "A Dhaka-bound train from Parbatipur derailed at Abdulpur Junction Signal Point. As the train was derailed on the main line, several trains got stuck at different stations."
The matter was informed to Rajshahi and Pakshi Western rail authorities, he added.
