Five people, including a child, were killed and three others injured when a running train rammed into a battery-run auto-rickshaw at an unprotected rail crossing in Dapakandi area of Bhuapur upazila of Tangail on Wednesday morning.
The identities of the deceased and injured could not be known yet.
Confirming the news, Faridul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhuapur Police Station, said that the accident took place around 11:30 am on the Bhuapur-Tarakandi railway line.
