A total of 12 dengue patients died in last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, raising the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 273.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said all the 12 patients are the residents of Dhaka.
It said some 2,711 patients were also hospitalized with the viral fever during the period. Among the new patients, some 1,130 patients admitted to the hospitals in Dhaka and rest of them outside it.
A total of 57,127 patients were infected with the dengue fever from January 1 to August 2.
Meanwhile, dengue claimed 281 patients in 2022.
